Event details

Keni-Duke Hetet is a designer for Waka Group Architecture, based in Whakatū, Nelson.

Waka Group are a multi- disciplinary architectural practice primarily involved in the Kaupapa Maori space. Their projects vary from marae work in the North and South Islands - to commercial builds for local iwi and public works for council.

Keni-Duke was born and bred in the King Country area of the North Island and has close connections with his iwi and family in Te Kuiti.

Learn about :

  • Influences from the natural environment,
  • challenges with the built environment and urban sprawl,
  • what we can learn from the cultural context and examples of how it's being applied.
  • Keni-Duke will also talk on applying the principle values of Tikanga Maori to your cultural projects
