For me architecture comes from the land and so I create a strong dialogue between the location and the specific ways my clients want to live. My personal approach to my work is to bring a generosity of spirit to this dialogue by learning the patterns of life my clients will develop while interacting within a home or a commercial building.

Good proportion, and composition are always achievable I believe on any budget and I strive to achieve beauty with practicality. I have been designing since 1980 when I worked for Bill Allington and later Athfield Architects.

Recent National ADNZ awards for 2010 Best Multi Unit Dwelling and for National Finalist award for Best House over 250m2 have been very satisfying recognition for me and were first entries.

I work as part of a team of four in my Mt Maunganui business where we design projects throughout NZ and overseas.
