Come on, join our supportive community of architectural design professionals and let’s work together to encourage excellence, inspire each other, create strong networks, promote our dynamic profession and build a better New Zealand.
We’re more than a professional body, we’re home to over 500 architectural designers and architects living and working in New Zealand. We collaborate, engage and set the standard for excellence in New Zealand architectural design.
Our members are at the core of everything we do. We make it our mission to deliver the very best in continued professional development and to provide an encouraging environment for our members to grow and thrive as design professionals.
ADNZ has been a leading force in the promotion of a better built environment for more than 60 years. Our relationships with both local and central government help to advocate for better building standards, changes to policy, and a New Zealand where sustainable, warm, dry, healthy homes are considered standard. By joining ADNZ you become a part of the conversation and commit to a better New Zealand.
We provide many opportunities each year to learn, network, collaborate and celebrate success. Not only do we enjoy coming together as a group for larger national events, we also like local. We encourage our members to attend regular regional events to build industry connections and friendship through sharing of experience and advice.
Our members work in all architectural disciplines, located throughout New Zealand and are at varying stages of their careers. From interns through to professional practice owners and registered architects, we celebrate diversity in the sector and in our profession.
Throughout the year, we provide hundreds of events for members at a local and national level to connect and keep up with industry standards, trends, innovations, products and offerings. These events provide opportunities for our members to hear from experts in their field, receive training and updates on industry news and the latest statutory changes and legislation. Our online resources, webinars and videos enable our more remote rural members to take full advantage of their membership.
Annually, our flagship national conference draws the membership together from all corners of New Zealand to learn from the best, and to celebrate the winners of our annual design awards programme.
All our educational events are aligned with the ADNZ CPD programme to ensure members meet our standards and are continuing to develop their professional skills and knowledge.
We help our members to grow and take that next step in their career development no matter their age or stage of their career. Through our online resources, regular communications, member's group chat and our regular CPD events, as a collective we’ll help you to develop new skills and hone your experience. Whether you work independently or as part of a team, Architectural Designers New Zealand will provide you with the tools, advice, resources and confidence you need. Open up a world of opportunity to be a better you.
We provide opportunities for members to extend their skills into governance roles with eligibility for nomination to our National Board and Regional Executive. These are volunteer positions but critical to the success of Architectural Designers New Zealand. The enthusiasm and commitment from our Board is what helps drive the continued growth and success of ADNZ. It's also one of the biggest reasons why we're so focused on our members and building a 'members first' organisation.
Through our multiple marketing channels, Architectural Designers New Zealand connects you with new clients. When you join ADNZ, you become part of our exclusive ‘find a designer’ directory that allows you to showcase your professional portfolio. You may also be featured in our defign blog or defign magazine, have your work showcased across our extensive social media presence and have the opportunity to enter the highly publicised and influential ADNZ Resene Architectural Design Awards. Marketing is also a focus for several ADNZ education events throughout the year to help members develop the skills to effectively promote their professional talents.
We’re an organisation founded on supporting individual designers to be the best they can be. You don’t need to be a practice owner to be a member of Architectural Designers New Zealand. Only individual members can enter our highly publicised ADNZ Resene Architectural Design Awards. Build your professional profile and reputation.
