A single pitch sloping roof angles away from the natural gradient of this Mt Pleasant hill site. This feature allowed us to compress the entry/garage areas and slowly reveal the breath-taking view beyond as one moves through the home and space and volume increases. The main gallery spine aligns to the Kaikoura ranges, so on entry there is a visual transparency through the building that reaches to the ocean, mountains and sky beyond.
